i-Control

i-Control is a PLC-controlled unit used for monitoring and controlling processes in bioreactor systems from laboratory scale to pilot plant or production. Thanks to the large number of I/O contacts, it is also possible to offer i-Control as a control unit for 2 to 4 reactors.

The interface is a color touchscreen that presents data and process functions in a clear and concise manner. The console communicates with Applikon BioXpert XP, or a third-party SCADA (Supervision Control and Data Acquisition) system via OPC (OLE for Process Control).

SCADA software is an industrial control system that can monitor, control, and collect data from industrial, infrastructural, or factory-based processes. It is controlled via OPC. OPC is software that acts as a link between a control unit (e.g., i-Control) and various machines, such as sensors or monitors in bioreactors.
